Sharon Rose Score!

More photos after the jump!

I went antiquing today at the Lincoln antique mall. This is one of my FAVORITE things to do while visiting Sedalia. I have visited at least once per year for the last four years, and I think I managed to get a piece of depression glass every single time I've gone. Now, this is quite a feat since I have a specific pattern that I've been faithful to collecting.

I am a fan of Sharon Rose (AKA Cabbage Rose, or even Rose of Sharon). It is one of the most durable and recognizable depression glass pattern. It was made by the Federal Glass Company from 1935-1939. This link can tell you all about it.

So far, all of my pieces have been pink.

This is today's booty.

It is taken on a book with the authenticity description. It reads that a platter is worth $13 (in 1999)

Okay so I broke down and bought an amber one. But its in my pattern!
Here is an ebay guide about telling the old ones from the reproductions.

Now that I read through that description thoroughly, I am starting to think the sugar and creamer set may be reproductions. I thought bubbles meant that the pieces were the authentic ones. Either way, I am going to have to investigate when I get home.

Maybe one day I'll have a full service and have myself a little tea party!
