Laying Cow Lie Painting Progression

This is the second painting in my decorate-the-new-house endeavor. Alex did not like this idea as much of the wine-and-cheese gift basket painting idea for the kitchen, but I thought that would be too cheesy.

I added a lot of water to the black paint to get it to spread thin.

 

Filled in the cow

 

I decide to put swirls in the background.

 

The swirls are in place. I tried to maintain the transition integrity of the color gradient. Now I have to work on the awkward color transitions on the cow.

I drink a beer and get really insecure about the shift in styles between the cow and the background. I put in guide markers to put swirls on the cow.

Maybe it will be okay.
